Volunteer

You are invited to join our dedicated volunteers. By sharing your time and talent with us, you can make a difference in the quality of library service in your community.

Volunteering can also make a difference in the quality of your own life. According to nationalservice.gov studies … "consistently demonstrate that there is a significant relationship between volunteering and good health; when individuals volunteer, they not only help their community but also experience better health in later years, whether in terms of greater longevity, higher functional ability, or lower rates of depression.”

The volunteers at the Gardiner Library learn new skills and gain work experience. Our volunteers meet new people and get to know their neighbors. Our volunteers have commented how they enjoy being part of the "library family" and feel a sense of pride in helping us. We always try to let them know how much they are appreciated.

Our volunteers:

  • check books in and out
  • shelve library items
  • mend and cover books
  • assist with special projects
  • run programs
  • shelf-read
  • garden and landscape
  • help with the book sale
  • and much, much more

The Gardiner Library has volunteers of all ages. Some do short-term projects, and some have been volunteering for years. We welcome your gift of time, whatever it may be.
