3x3 Mini Art Show

Reserve a 3” X 3” canvas and design a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Paints, markers, collage-you decide as your creative genius runs wild! Once completed, return to the library for displaying throughout the summer in our first Mini Art Show.

Join us on the back patio of the library for a story and a DIY project. Family friendly, socially distanced and prodigal observed. Pre-registration is necessary and limited.

Summer Scavenger Hunts @ the Library

If you’re coming to the library to hunt for a book, why not solve some riddles while you’re at it? This summer the library will be hosting a different scavenger hunt on the weekends. While you’re visiting, ask for a list of riddles at the circulation desk and see how many you can solve before it’s time to check out your books. Receive a small prize after your seeking is completed.

*This is a passive, self-guided program in the library. Families are welcome to participate. Social distancing and masks required.

Family Birding Program 

Friday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Join Nick Martin, Park Educator from Minnewaska State Park Preserve, for a birding program for families. We’ll take a short walk on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and into Majestic Park to look and listen for bird activity. During the program, we’ll stop to relax and read a short story focusing on birds.

The total number of participants for this program is limited to 15 individuals. All unvaccinated participants are encouraged to wear face coverings and keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of their immediate household. 

Meet at the Gardiner Library.

Miniature Wargaming Day
Ages 10 and up

WWII and other battles will be on-going throughout the day. Find out more about the hobby and play.

Junior Zine Making and
Animal Design

Ages 8 and up

A Zine is a small self-published work of original art, text or images that can be reproduced on a copy machine and shared. It can be a comic, collage, poetry, art. It can express a feeling or passion about something that's important to you. It can revolve around a theme such as animals, dragons, trees, shoes, a fanzine, etc. Most importantly, it's your ideas and creativity that generate what's included.


Supplies provided. Just bring your imagination and you could have a published zine by the end of the program
